Incheon National University (President Park Jong-tae) won the grand prize for the third consecutive year following 2022 and 2023 at the "2024 National Brand Awards" ceremony held at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul on April 3.

The Korea National Brand Awards is hosted by the New York Festival, one of the world's top three advertising festivals, sponsored by the Chosun Ilbo, and annually selects and announces brands representing Korea based on the national brand competitiveness index.

Incheon National University started as a private university in 1979 and was converted to a city university in 1994 and a national university corporation in 2013. The entire university campus moved from Jemulpo to Songdo International City in 2009, and in 2010, Incheon National University and Incheon National University were merged to achieve unprecedented change and innovation in Korea.

Last year, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the incorporation of national universities, it was an opportunity to organize the achievements so far through the production of the 10th anniversary white paper. Incheon National University, which has made remarkable progress in various fields such as education, research, and employment based on its members' efforts and active financial support from the Incheon Metropolitan Government and the government, ranked 21st after 2022 in the JoongAng Ilbo's university evaluation in 2023, and ranked fourth among national universities, and is expected to soon enter the top 10 universities in Korea. Meanwhile, it is growing into a global university, ranking 18th in the World University Real Impact (WURI) in 2023. 

"Incheon National University has a short history, but it is the university that has shown the most innovative changes and growth, and has great growth potential," President Park Jong-tae said. "We will focus on establishing a research-type university system, preparing ways to utilize Jemulpo Campus to coexist with local residents, upgrading the school operating system, and enhancing the reputation of the university." 

He also emphasized, "We will establish a public medical school at the university to cultivate excellent local doctors and medical scholars, and to grow into a local hub national university that contributes to the region and the country through the prevention of infectious diseases, research, and vaccine development."
